Zanussi Oven Hob Glass Top & Frame Only

good fit - one issue

Overall this was a easy replacement apart from just one hiccup. All the respective screw holes etc lined up and dimensionally it was good. The one issue I came across was the front panel switch holes (for the 6 rotary controls). They were too small. On my cooker there is a circular silicon insert that goes into the top front panel before the switch is inserted; this I would guess is to prevent the ingress of liquid through the panel and onto the switch connections. Anyhow, the holes in the front panel were far too small to take the insert and rather than leave them out (someone must have thought them required at one time) I had to open out the holes with a conical step cutter. I should have measured the difference in diameters but didn't; don't quote me but I would say the original hole was about 12mm and the opened out diameter was about18mm. This aside all went well, but a word of advice :- make a very careful note of the positioning of the hob units on the securing bars. These bars have multiple positioning holes for the hobs and you MUST, MUST mark the holes to be reused before releasing the hobs.
