What is a fluff filter in a washing machine?
A fluff filter, also known as a lint filter or lint trap, catches lint, fibres, and other debris that separate from clothes during the wash cycle. It is typically located near the front or top of the machine and can be easily removed for cleaning.
The filter helps prevent lint from clogging the drain pump or getting re-deposited on the clothes, ensuring better washing performance and reducing the risk of clogs in the plumbing system.
What happens if you don't change the lint filter?
A clogged filter restricts water flow, making the washing machine less efficient and increasing wash times and water consumption. The accumulated lint and debris can lead to odours and transfer onto clean clothes.
Neglecting the filter can result in debris buildup in the drain pump or plumbing system, leading to blockages and costly repairs.

Mesh Filter for Hotpoint Dryer
Standard manufacturers original equipment filter. The old one failed at the hinge which I guess happens from time to time. The replacement arrived the next day and fitted first time. I'm happy!

Hotpoint Tumble Dryer Lint filter
Hotpoint have made this part obsolete, no doubt to force me to buy a newer model and prematurely scrap my perfectly working condensing tumble dryer for the sake of a plastic filter. Ransom Spares to the rescue!! They sent me the correct original part in 24hrs. Hotpoint need to learn from them if they want customers to remain loyal to their brand. It also doesn't say much for Hotpoints eco credentials if they force scrappage after only a few years use. Great job Ransom Spares you are doing your bit to save the planet.
