This is a genuine drum tub suspension spring made of stainless steel.
With heavy-duty coils, the spring stretches and compresses to support the washing machine drum’s weight. The two hooks on both ends attach to the drum and the machine frame, holding the drum during washing cycles.
If you detect more violent shaking or vibration than usual during the spin cycle, you might need to change your drum suspension spring with this replacement part.
This drum tub suspension spring is from Hotpoint. Also fits other washing machine brands like Ariston and Indesit.

Much easier than I thought
We have an old Whirlpool washing machine that has served us really well over the years, although it had been getting a bit noisy of late. Then one morning my wife texted me to say that there was a loud noise and the washing machine stopped. I came home expecting to have to pay out several hundred pounds for a replacement, but noticed that a spring had broken, had a look at Ransom Spares and saw that I could buy it and get it next day delivery for less than £20. It seemed worth a try for that sort of saving. I set aside Saturday morning to sort this all out and it took me about 10 minutes to fit, all told. Thank you Ranson Spares, and the washing machine is as good as ever again.
