What mechanism controls the oven door seal?
The oven door or oven compartment is fastened with a heat-resistant silicone or rubber door seal. When the oven door is closed, the seal creates a tight barrier that preserves the insulation and prevents heat loss.
How will I know if the oven door seal needs to be repaired?

Perfect
I originally bought a lesser product from elsewhere that was supposed to fit but failed to seal the oven door properly. Big mistake! So, I spent a bit more on this seal which came quickly and did the job perfectly - easy to fit and no heat loss.

Did the trick
The part arrived on time and was fitted in minutes. It's easier to fit than the less expensive cut and fit products but you do pay the premium for this. It was a low hassle to fit and it works.

My son has a really old whirlpool oven with a broken seal.
The current one appears to be 48cmx36cm.
Will this stretch to fit?

Hi Andrew, unfortunately we can't be sure if this would safely stretch enough to last a sustained period of time. There should be a 12 digit service code, beginning 85, on the rating plate inside the cooker.
