The table above show’s that washing machine brands are often owned and manufactured by the same company.  The reason for this is that a manufacturer of washing machines will want to cover different price points and levels of features that conusmers demand.  For example they might have an entry level brand and a mid level brand which are priced differently and have different program options.  It's worth noting that the differences between the washing machine brands offered by the same manufacturer will tend to be in the design, features, and programs and not the components that are central to the functioning of the washing machine.  Non cosmetic, technical spare parts, such as washing machine pumps, door seals, filters etc will often be the same across all brands owned by the manufacturer.

* It’s worth noting that Arcelik the manufacturer of Beko appliances only recently (2024) acquired Whirlpool Europe.  Therefore the Beko brand, for the time being at least, should be viewed as a separate brand to Hotpoint, Indesit, and Whirlpool.  However, going forward and if everything were to remain the same 40% of the UK washing machine users will own an Arcelik manufactured washing machine.
